Do not stand for unlawful, irresponsible or dangerous parking in Bedford Borough

Bedford Borough residents are being urged to call the council’s parking hotline when they spot people parking in unlawful, irresponsible or dangerous ways, including –

  • On zig-zag lines outside of schools
  • In disabled parking bays, without displaying a valid blue badge
  • In bus stops or taxi ranks
  • Across dropped kerbs
  • Without a valid ticket or permit
  • In a way that impedes the flow of traffic or access to pedestrian footpaths

Deputy Mayor and Portfolio Holder for Environment Councillor Charles Royden said ‘Those who park unlawfully or irresponsibly are not only selfish but they also create an unsafe environment for other residents.’

‘I encourage residents to call our new parking hotline to report offenders and where possible we will prosecute offenders.’

Call Bedford Borough Council’s main number 01234 267422, select option two for ‘Highways and Parking’, and then option three to report dangerous, inconsiderate or unlawful parking across Bedford Borough.
